As a kid, what did you look forward to most about summer vacation/break/holiday?
Well, since our summer holidays fell over Christmas I always had that to look forward to - not to mention my birthday and New Years. I also had plenty of friends with birthdays in December so there were lots of sleepovers and going to the movies. I have to say the thing I always looked forward to was spending so much more time with my best friend. Most of the time we stayed over each other’s houses, sometimes for days at a time, without having to worry about getting home the next morning. And when we did have big slumber parties which included my small group of friends (about 5 of us) we would order pizza, gossip and talk about boys, and we would ring the radio station up and request a song and dedicate it to our crushes at the time! It was hilarious. Even now the smell of fresh cut grass on a hot summers day takes me right back to those times.
