Luckiest girl in the world

I came home Tuesday to find a package from Sarah who I sent to during the Sockret Pal exchange. Inside were some wonderful goodies: a pair of hand-knit socks in a great shade of blue;  a signed copy of Yarn Harlot’s latest book (which was finished on the train today), two balls of Sensations yarn that is so soft. I think I’m going to use both balls to make a couple of hats for my little neice, Emma.

And the socks, being modeled:

While reading Yarn Harlot’s latest book there was something in there that just clicked with me and I thought, “yep, that’s me,” but now I can’t find it. I will flip through it again in the morning when I’m more refreshed.

I thought of something really strange on the train coming home today. I was thinking of gifting my brother with a brown scarf I made a long time ago (for someone else – I know, I’m a bad sister) since it’s coming up to winter in Australia. Then I remembered that I never even OWNED a scarf until I moved to northern Japan! Isn’t that weird? Compared to where we were in Japan, Australia doesn’t get cold – but when I was growing up I always thought the winters were cold. I suffer from the cold. So why didn’t I ever have a scarf?

I’m so glad the socks fit!

I’ve used the yarn I sent you for a hat and it’s super soft on. I thought these colors looked rather Easter-ish (although they got to you after Easter, oops).

By the way, you did look at the title page of the book, right?
